Alice Gallagher

Clarinetist Alice Gallagher has been teaching, presenting, and working behind the scenes in the performing arts for nearly two decades.

She made her debut at eighteen as a guest soloist with the Boston Pops as the winner of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.

Right off the heels of starting her education at The Juilliard School, Gallagher was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. Her experiences as a musician with a disability have motivated her to advocate for better access and equity for disabled artists and musicians in practical ways.

Ms Gallagher has performed with the La Jolla Symphony, and served as substitute for New World Symphony and Boston Modern Orchestra Project. She was a fellow at the National Orchestral Institute.

Alice Gallagher graduated from The Juilliard School and earned her Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance from California State University Fullerton.

Alice Gallagher has taught many private students who have gone on to continue their musical lives in a variety of disciplines, from teaching to performance.

Ms. Gallagher is on the Applied Music faculty of MiraCosta College.
