Creating Disability Connection: 5 Ways to Accommodate and Understand Neurodivergent Students
This session will delve into why accommodations matter for neurodivergent students and how college educators can approach and accommodate with respect and care. Our speaker, Russell Lehman, International Disability Rights Advocate at the UCLA Tarjan Center, will blend his own lived experiences with data-driven information to foster insights and inspire change. Attendees will learn five unconventional yet practical approaches to supporting neurodivergent college students. Through storytelling, practical strategies, and honest dialogue, participants will gain the insights to move beyond rote compliance to genuine connection and empowerment. All are welcome.
