ACCESS Webinar: Turning the Page: Using the College Library to Drive Neuroinclusive Campus Design

As part of the UCLA Tarjan Center's ongoing collaboration with the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, we are excited to announce our next ACCESS webinar: Turning the Page: Using the College Library to Drive Neuroinclusive Campus Design. The ACCESS webinar series focuses on topics and content relevant for professionals working in higher education, with the goal of creating college classrooms and campuses that support the success and inclusion of neurodivergent students.

This webinar will expand the principles of universal design in college beyond the classroom and into the broader campus, envisioning how student services and college spaces can become increasingly accessible and inclusive. With a focus on college libraries as an exemplar, our speakers will highlight how they have rethought their library with neurodivergent students in mind. Through practical examples, participants will learn from the speakers’ processes of undertaking changes, including gathering student input, navigating resistance, and obtaining funding, as well as the outcomes of various approaches. Attendees will walk away with concrete ideas, including ones that can be implemented immediately or at low-cost, for redesigning spaces and supporting all students. The webinar will also discuss common scenarios that may come up in the library and public campus spaces with neurodivergent students and best practices for responding that enhance student success. Captioning will be available.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday, April 21st from 10:00-11:30 am. See the attached flyer and register here!
