Amanda Berumen

Amanda Berumen, WHNP-BC, BA, RN, PHN is a doctoral student in the UCLA School ofNursing. She earned a BA in Anthropology and an MSN from UCLA. She is a board-certifiedWomen’s Health Nurse Practitioner, trained at Georgetown University. Amanda is the recipientof the UCLA Cota-Robles Fellowship for her doctoral studies. Her research focuses on healthinformation–seeking behaviors and social determinants of health among parents of children withintellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Through qualitative inquiry, she aims toadvance health equity by contributing to the development of nursing practices and healthcareinterventions that address personal and contextual barriers to family-centered care.
