Ingrid Tien, PhD

Ingrid Tien is a BRIDGES-funded postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health, working with Dr. Meng-Chuan Lai to study sex-based diagnostic disparities in autism and their intersections with mental health. She is passionate about using community-based participatory research methods to co-produce research that is meaningful and impactful for the autistic community. Ingrid earned her Ph.D. in Human Development and Psychology from UCLA in 2025, where she gained experience in interventions for autistic youth with anxiety and coordinated a community-based evidence-based treatment trial under Dr. Jeffrey Wood. She has published in a diverse range of journals and topics using both quantitative and qualitative methods. She completed her B.A. in Psychology at UCLA (2021), where her award-winning Honors Thesis examined appearance anxiety and attention during online learning.
