Juliette Lerner

Juliette Lerner is a third-year doctoral student in the UCLA Human Development andPsychology PhD program and a graduate student researcher in the Lord Lab within the Centerfor Autism Research and Treatment (CART). She received her bachelor’s degree in psychologyand a minor in disability studies from UCLA in 2021 and has years of experience working withautistic and neurodiverse populations within various community, clinical, and research settings,including as an extern in the Lord Autism Clinic and Youth Stress and Mood Program (YSAM);clinic coordinator and behavioral coach at the UCLA PEERS Clinic; research assistant within theUCLA Child OCD, Anxiety and Tic Disorders Clinic; and a tailored services mentor to autisticindividuals within the Regional Center service provider IGNITE Collective, Inc. As an extern inthe Lord Clinic, she conducts neuropsychological assessments and provides treatment acrossthe lifespan to autistic children and adults. Within YSAM, she provides evidence-basedinterventions for suicide prevention to teens and young adults and recruits participants for anassociated PCORI-funded RCT through the UCLA emergency department. As a clinic coordinatorfor the UCLA PEERS Clinic, she managed aspects of the PEERS for Young Adults, PEERS forAdolescents, and PEERS for Preschoolers social skills interventions, and served as the researchcoordinator for the UCLA College to Career randomized controlled trial. Juliette’s researchinterests include exploring cognitive decline in older age autistic adults with co-occurringintellectual disability, as well as the impact of family, caregivers, and social structures on thesocial-emotional development of autistic youth and adult populations.
