Sensory Over-Responsiveness Across the Spectrum (Age 7-15 years)
Eligibility
- Your child is between the ages of 7 to 15 years old.
- Your child has a diagnosis on the autism spectrum.
Purpose
- We are studying responses to sensory stimuli, such as touch, sound, and sight, in children with autism to investigate the causes of sensory over-responsivity.
- We hope that study results will contribute to developing better treatments for sensory over-responsivity in children with autism.
Involvement
- Children will complete some sensory games while we measure their behavior and body responses (e.g. heart beats).
- Some children may also be eligible to participate in a brain scan.
- Parents and children are also asked to complete some questionnaires.
